That's the slogan for 'Captains of Lives', Singapore Prison Service.
-------------
went to NTU career fair yesterday.
one booth got my attention amidst the chaos.
Nothing but 'Prison Officers'
I have this burning curiosity to listen to stories they have to tell... and also to know more about life behind bars.
I recall visiting Singapore prison twice.
Second time was to Changi prison during my primary school excursion.
The first was to visit someone. Even though I was only 9 then, the memories were vividly haunting.
Having already chosen audit as my career path, I decided to be a prison volunteer .
just send in my online application~ shall wait & see... *fingers crossed
I foresee challenges volunteering there thgz. It'll be totally different from my experience with the kids at cdac. I was reading the Prison Act just now... and some sections scares me a little~ but that aren't enough to deter me.
---------------
At the end of the journey,
all material wealth accumulated means nothing.
It's the legacy left behind that matters.
"Did my existence truly matter to anyone?"
