2 big enough words + undefined meaning of 'personality'

= debate with big theories flying from

studies of sociology all the way to

analogies from perspective of material engineering

Something said in class almost brought me to tears... it's about this orphanage study whereby cute babies were given attention from care givers whereas 'un-cute babies' are not given any affection. The 'un-cute babies' eventually died.

I spend hours on Google and school database search but still unable to find information about the study done. Any kind soul who have an idea, please enlighten me.

According to my classmate, they died due to lack of affection.

But is it the only cause? How did they define cute? Can it be due to lack of food too? What conditions are they subjected to? What are the other variables? Where is it conducted? When is it conducted? Who is it conducted by? Why did they allow babies to die for experiments?

I need answers.
