Chanced upon a few statistics which at first glance were incomprehensible…
-Gun shops outnumber Mcdonald’s franchises in America by a ratio of 10:1.
-There are about 65 million registered gun owners throughout the US and that many guns alone in Texas.
-Every three hours in America, a child dies from a gunshot wound.

In all the movies, drama, music and even novels that I was exposed to- the availability of weapons seem more like a ‘special effect’ to entertain and it din occur to me that it could be reality. Even for the news, i thought it must have been an exception rather than the norm to hit the headlines... how ignorant can i be?
